Low self-esteem is not internalised anything.

It's a normal human feeling.

Maybe with the huge number of narcissists now you might feel weird for having that feeling.

But here's the secret, those narcissists actually get it worse than everyone else.

Low self-esteem is treated as a sin nowadays. Depressed people are forced to fight harder to mask it and not seek help, lest others find out and make their lives even more miserable as punishment.

When you are in the cult, and you have those rare moments of clarity where you know something is horribly wrong, but you can't express it without being ostracized, so you lie to yourself that you don't actually believe what you know is true. Big Brother loves you. You need only accept his telescreen into your heart. If you surrender yourself to his will then you will know the all encompassing love of big brother.
