"We are working with LGBTQREW+ to provide a safe, queer-friendly set."

It irritates me that they have weaponized the concept of safety. Reddit also does this. I was on a subreddit for a show that had a non-binary character (and just like that). The mod insisted that we refer to the enby character using they/them pronouns and said that by doing so, it would "keep the community safe". Safe from what exactly? Singular pronouns?

This is doublespeak. And it's not about "safety". It's about demanding compliance to an ideology. How is it unsafe for Sam if I refuse to use plural pronouns? And let's say next week, he decides to change his pronouns yet again, like Demi Lavato, will they/them pronouns cause him harm? This is pure insanity.

Words are not violence. Silence is not violence. Violence is violence.

It makes it a more dangerous place.

People are now afraid of accidentally saying the 'wrong' thing and being fired, losing their ability to feed their families.

I guarantee you that nobody feels 'safer' as a result of this. It's a total abuse of language and abuse of power.

They only want ‘safety’ for their chosen group of freaks and predators; for anyone standing against them, they would disagree with any norms of decency or human rights.
