If a spouse came out as gay, we would just expect a divorce. With Trans, the unwitting partner is just expected to smile and go along. Literally any other option is 'transphobic'. This poor wife is a hostage to an abuser.

I can understand a gay man being married to a woman if he was genuinely ignorant on how sexual attraction worked or if he was out of options because his family or his community threatened him. It still sucks for the wife. She didn’t do anything wrong, unless she wilfully ignored obvious signs or knew he was gay but thought she could "fix" him. The gay husband should be compassionate towards his wife and grant her request for divorce. In fact, he should just divorce her if she’s still young and fertile so she can get a straight/bi husband and have children with the new man. I have no sympathy for gay men who marry women when there were alternatives available to those men. But most gay men in these situations feel genuine guilt, and either wish they could be straight or try to make things right in the divorce proceedings.
How many trans spouses feel guilty after choosing to be trans?

I'm a little torn there. Is it a choice, even if you're AGP? I really don't know, it seems more like compulsion. It's the tactlessness and entitlement that astounds me, anyway. And there seems to be a lot of it with this type of person.

No different from an alcoholic choosing the bottle over his family.

I think that's a perfect analogy
