The problem is that they expect you to keep treating the word as if it had the previous meaning. "Woman" and "man" now refer to gender identity rather than biological sex? Great. Now let's just call the next women's weightlifting event the female weightlifting event, change all the bathroom signs from men's and women's to male and female, etc. But they wouldn't like that. We really need to fight back against these manipulative word games.

Yep. It's similar to the Motte-and-bailey fallacy. They're not just redefining words, they're trying to appropriate the words' significance by alternately using both definitions.
