Both women and men put themselves to danger/have sacrificed themselves to save children. For most people to protect minors is a natural instinct. Hell women and men have done so for animals. Sure there are psychopaths and sure there are people of both sexes too scared to help,although they want to.

The system doesn't give a shit about any individual group. They're hoping to confuse people enough to believe that robots can identify as people so they can download something approximating their consciousness to establish a legacy.
