The U.S. had a chemical weapons regiment stationed in the south of England during the war. They were ready for the Germans to use theirs first before going into action. However, this may have been a bluff as there may not have been a stockpile of chemical weapons at the time.

Don't worry about us getting caught blowing up vital energy infrastructure of Nato allies goy, pay attention to and be dazzled by the shiny balloons in the sky goy! I'm not saying it's aliens goy, but it COULD be, so better focus on it before the aliens catch us off guard, and stop distracting people with irrelevant acts of terrorism like the nordstream pipeline we totally didnt blow up-even though we later celebrated it being blown up.

Which just proves no one wanted to use chemical gas. Hitler wasn't unique in this set the time.
