Do you think Jason actually watches them all?

Sped up is pretty much the only way I will sit through most videos, although not usually 2x because of pitch shift and some people's way of speaking isn't understandable at speed. I don't know why we don't have software compensation for that. But even still, video is generally shittier than just reading.

youtube's pitch compensation is pretty good. watching a speech at normal speed is suicide-fodder for me

You can watch/listen with the pitch shift corrected via many browser addons - and faster than 2x. I use Magic Actions for YouTube. Practice will get you used to it and eventually mostly easy to comprehend.
