I'm sorry I mocked you. I don't believe that being able to block a user in a particular thread would solve any of saidits core issues. I see the core issues as vote manipulation through multiple accounts and spam and the whole on /s/all vs not on /s/all dilemma.

jason carswell just got banned because of an argument with another user.

he was an long standing and active user in this forum.

to me, banning him was a clear sign that management has their heads shoved up their asses.

the jason carswell problem could have been dealt with in a much more diplomatic manner.

i did not witness the argument that caused him to be banned, but anyways.

Jason and socks both refused to block* each other, for months and months. But if admins could have forced them to block each other, maybe that would have been better. Maybe socks would have used your block-per-post idea, but Jason certainly wouldn't have.

my written words tend to make me seem like i am trying to be an ass, but that is not the case at all.

i strongly suggest that you take my advice and create a system that allows an OP to boot disruptive users from their threads.

i think that you will find that moderation issues will take care of themselves.

best wishes.
