it takes two to tango. If you just let them do their thing, we'd quickly learn who they were, and would be able to block them ourselves if we wanted to. Instead, this nonsense is escalating and for each account banned (remembering all the poor innocents who get caught in the crossfire), a bunch more crop up, hydra like, shitting the place up even more.

It depends on their intent. Trolls: I agree with you. They will get bored if ignored. Shills: Ignoring them allows them to change the culture of this site.
