I find it hard to believe anyone can really be involuntarily celibate.

Most likely just unwilling to date someone beneath what they believe is their standard in appearance. The community seems to be a negative feedback loop, wherein the more you subscribe to its beliefs the more likely the outcome of them occurring is.

Yeah, but they hate the "unwilling" extremely lead to can't bear to date with a person they think is not good enough, in their mind deeply, they believe they are the people deserve the best.
