Lmao, it seems weird from a US Citizen's perspective too, as we're taught throughout school that we pretty much have what's called a "direct democracy" when we really have a "republic with representative democratic properties". I think with each passing year, those "properties" are getting more totalitarian.

I don't expect US to change the system, they view everything that the founding fathers did as a foundation for the American nation. Except slavery lol.

Ahhh, I was an existential nihilist at one point, that led down a dark rabbit hole of thinking. If nothing truly matters, then what's the point in doing anything? I had to switch my views up. But for me, Anti-Globalism isn't about preserving the color of a population, it's about keeping the culture of a nation alive.

This philosophy doesn't say how to look at your life, therefore you need to get a view yourself. There's no point in doing anything. The thing is, I don't need a point, I live my life because I was born, even if it doesn't matter in the end, doing things that I like brings me pleasure and I decided that one of the goals of my life is to bring myself pleasure.

This philosophy also helps with anxiety, worrying about what other people think suddenly doesn't matter.

Whether or not you want to follow moral rules is a personal choice. In comparison, morality rules of religions are not a personal choice therefore if I choose to respect moral rules I have a higher morality than most religious people who accepted these rules on society's pressure.

Like I said to you before, if you entered an ice cream shop and wanted vanilla, chocolate or strawberry ice cream specifically, and they only had one flavor; every flavor blended into one, and that was the only type of ice cream available anywhere, ice cream would be boring and dull. It's a silly metaphor, but the same goes for culture; as humans we have the opportunity to visit places like South America, the United States, Japan, Italy, Britain, and even Romania, and experience their unique cultures.

I find History more interesting though, whether we want to or not, we are a species that have to reproduce. Tradition inevitably changes and the only thing that's left behind is history. If a population has an understanding of it's history I think that your hope of national identity will remain.

I agree with this, this is the thing we seem to be struggling with right now. As long as you immigrate legally, and assimilate with the culture of the country that's taking you in, there's no problem. It's what our ancestors did and what you should be doing too; here we have illegal immigrants who are having children here, taking advantage of our system and help from the government with tax-payer's dollars while they don't pay taxes, and some receive much more help than US's own citizens do. All while saying "Fuck America". It's a big problem.

In Romania, the situation is pretty funny, the anti-immigration supporters say we should protect our Christianity from Muslim immigrants. The funny thing is, no Muslims want to come here, we have shit economy due to corruption and they are afraid of nonexistent threats lmao.

Yes. I don't believe a party should be perfect, it's supposed to make millions of romanians happy but I believe in democracy and debate and if America lost it's way, maybe we can show you one.

Not to be crude, but you don't seem like a person to be taken in by propaganda.. If you believe voting is still an option, that must mean the system isn't entirely corrupted/broken yet. As here in the US, you really cannot rely on voting; like I said, on the campaign trail politicians say one thing, then do another in office. The president's role is mainly external relations and if perhaps the governing party is trying to pass a outrageous law, the president can reject that decision.

For example, PSD tried to pass a law to legalise corruption but romanians protested massively on the streets, the President represents all the romanians and should't be one sided on politics so in result, Klaus Iohannis rejected the law proposed.

Through the internet, entertainment industry, music industry as well as the media. The press/news loves bashing the younger generations blaming them from problems or writing articles that degrade them, and as a result, the younger generations lash out at the older "boomers" on the internet or in their music (music is now a young person's game, whereas in the 50's-70's in america, you could be in your mid 30's and enter the game. Whoa! This is a shit ton of information!! I'm going to be doing some serious research now! Sorry I'm just seeing this now.. It sounds like your political system is very similar to ours in how it behaves:

Romania's 89' revolution put in power the same communists that ruled communist Romania.

I still have family there; they say everything is much better, but they're getting older so of course who knows with what they say. But honestly I'm sad to say I didn't know this!! Even my parents have told me Romania removed the communists before I was born; that was the whole reason my grandparents and parents moved here. After WW2, Romania was under communist rule for a long ass time..

It sounds like Romanian parties are obviously aware that their corruption has been exposed to the public too, so they're trying to create in-fighting between Romanians by creating "groups" and "sides". Is this happening a lot in your opinion? It's huge in America. There's political groups, age groups, ethnic groups, religious groups and literally all fight with each other here or have something negative to say about the other. Like it's kinda crazy when you think about it; a country is insulting it's younger citizens ("Millinneials" and "Zoomers") everyday on the tv/news rather than bringing them up; it's because they're dividing us. It seems like you guys are divided in this way too.

It's like how the US has Democrats and Republicans (or left and right, and some of the left and right's value's have kinda switched places over the last 20-30 years..), no matter who's elected the end-result is always the same. I literally have not had one just, ethical or moral president in my life time; not even one who was shitty at his job but tried his best - they were all nefarious. My presidents were Bill Clinton, George Bush, Obama and now Trump. So yeah, all of them were pretty fucking corrupt and lied about everything they said on the campaign trail and pretended to be about. Because of this, I don't believe in voting.

edit: knowing Romania's general history as well, this kinda hurts. Romania has been fighting for survival it's whole existence; it's created some badass, famous leaders like Vlad III Dracula. Even when they were brought into the Roman Empire because they were seen as people of culture and not "barbarians", they kinda got taken advantage of as the Roman Empire took advantage of their abundant natural resources and used them for their own purposes. I thought things were better now after WW2.

Just recently I was in an accident, crashed right through a car door because I didn't expect the driver to open it without looking. Didn't broke anything thankfully but everyday you get to deal with these dudes who almost kick you out of the street at high speed expecting you to get out of their way. No, PSD and PNL are both very corrupt, they are populists and get votes through old media sensationalism. But I got some hope for the new movement of anti-corruption that grows in popularity for the young.

We have free health care but I don't know if it reaches everyone, the equipment is very old in many cases and doctors leave for better conditions in EU mainly. But I wouldn't worry about that because we build churches with great health regeneration rate.

Very rich history. My impression of the present is that our government throttles the economy. For example the IT sector is gigantic, we make a lot of money that the gov spends in the most ridiculous ways.
