Both? He probably has many children and is killing other people's children to secure more food for his own. This strategy may be not optimal outside of Africa, but I don't see why he would suddenly go extinct.

Nah, he's dead.

He was released earlier once, why not release him earlier again? Plus now arguing insanity should be easier, so they may just let him go.
