Hearing about recent Doctor Who news and stuff the other day these popped into my head. Back in the late 70's as a kid I used my Dad's mono tape recorder by putting it beside the TV or stereo speaker to recording over and over on the same cassette - anything from pop songs to my parents Vangelis on vinyl to the Cosmos soundtrack to these...
TVO, aka TVOntario used to feature Doctor Who which had the most epic theme version during the Tom Baker years - which I taped. I also loved loved love the theme song to Zoom The White Dolphin for it's minor key melody with lyrics I couldn't understand, whether the show was in French or dubbed in English.
ZOOM THE WHITE DOLPHIN 1971 PLAYLIST:
I was never into that show, but, also on TVO, I was very much into this psychedelic show that I wished they'd made more episodes for:

Also with an epic but grim opening that I recorded on that old tape recorder, Once Upon A Time... was a show I remember it but didn't get into it as much because I never did catch the beginning of the series and every time I tried to watch it I felt like I was missing something.
Once Upon A Time... Man:
Turns out they kept making them:
Later I would also like Mighty Orbots on Saturday morning, again wanting more episodes, love the theme, but not on TVO or CBC:

Edit addition: Vision On is an inspiring DIY art show for kids very much worth mentioning that I loved but never managed to catch as often as I would have liked...
Vision On BBC KID SHOW:
I don't recall much of these weird shows, but maybe their weirdness explains some of mine. I don't know if any of these count as obscure, but they are a little more rare than the common fare - and might certainly be unknown if you weren't exposed to them in the 70s and 80s.
Also, FYI, if you have kids and don't want to expose them to modern filth or whatever is passed off as entertainment, I recommend all of these based on my fond limited memories. If you do watch them I'm curious to hear your impressions, and especially if there's anything in there that may have corrupted me.
