You know, I used to think that boys were just lucky too, but I really don't think that's the case anymore. Getting molested generally creates trauma for the kids regardless of sex. That some of them might end up fine with it even in adulthood doesn't excuse all the kids that are traumatized by it. I think there are more boys than girls that end up fine, but there are still enough that it's good to have laws punishing teachers harshly for doing it.

I was dating a 36yr old woman when I was 17, and that was perfectly legal. Why should it suddenly be a horrible crime if she was a teacher (she wasn't)?

I didn't realize until years later a few of my teachers obviously had crushes on me. If I had any idea...

I don't think it's always molestation, but it can be. Depends on the circumstances.

That's 17, though. You're already legal in a lot of states and almost every other country in the world, and much older adults sleeping with you is sleazy, not criminal.

But to answer your question, you don't form sexual relationships with minors when you are in a position of trust, even if they might be above the age of consent. At 17 it's borderline so it's not a "horrible crime" even though it is still wrong, and 17 isn't the age where kids are likely to be fucked up by it. I'm talking like 12-15 year olds getting banged by their teacher that you read news articles about, and those are the ages where you see guys saying "WHEre Was ShE WhEn I waS thAt aGE".

It's an especially bad form of statutory rape because you are in a position of trust of someone who is already too young to meaningfully consent, and often they will end up fucked up over it even in cases where they might have "consented" at the time, which to be clear, often isn't the case anyways.

Why the new username? Did you get banned again for real?

Nope, no banned. The other account was just associated with a lot of moderation stuff and during the transition to the new admin team people were making new names in chat. D3 had become shoes to make fun of socks. So I became mittens. There was a whole clothing theme going on for a hot second.
