I have no problem with making it safer, I also have a huge problem with some asshole getting hammered and not hydrating and dying and now concerts are banned. It's the same reasoning as to why I have a 15 minute timer on my turkey fryer, because stupid people burned their house down with them. Not really my problem, and now I have to set a timer to turn my fryer back on four times to cook a bird. I disabled it really, but my point still stands.
All your points are valid, and I agree that things can and should be made available. Canceling life? Canceling life through a gubmint? Nah, I'll skip that. The vast majority of people are fine at these things in reality.
I was unaware of any current laws passed anywhere, which made this sound worse to me. Even still, I don't need safety from my govt. I can handle that on my own.
What's next? Pools are disbanded because a child drowned? It isn't that far away from this. It never stops. And personal responsibility will always remain more important in my book.
