Reddit bans you for anything. Even nothing.

Adding "Now" is misleading a bit. Reddit has been a place truth goes to die for a while.

Reddit makes excuses for the pedes. Who cares about reddit.

Reddit bans you just for being human. They want the site to be all bots that they control the narrative of. It appears to be about 98% bots now, so mission almost complete.

“I’m confident that Reddit could sway elections,”-- Reddit’s CEO 2018.

This contains the link to the actual interview with the new yorker where the reddit CEO was quoted, it gives a summary and is used in case the original source gets edited or removed. https://bgr.com/tech/reddit-election-interference-steve-huffman-interview/

I think they could sway elections better if they didn't ban conservative users and subs, it's just an echo chamber full of people that will vote dem anyway. Maybe that's by design. But instead of social media swaying elections they had to just blatantly rig it in 2020. I doubt they wanted to have to resort to that.

They use text book groupthink brainwashing. This is what the echo chambers are and historically it is an effective method at committing atrocities. .

Good point so Reddit isn't really designed to get people to vote dem, it's to make sure current dem supporters don't become conservative by seeing facts or logic.

More like controlling the perceived majority consensus thought.

Giving the SBI treatment, it is in their MO to ban anyone who contextualizes their lies with truth.

I wonder if they are trying to create controversy on purpose. Trump hasn't played his role of selling the American right yet.

No - not Reddit.

He was banned from r/ConservativeTerrorism. (Perhaps a BIASED sub? For example, you'd be banned from a church if you yelled 'Satin rules!'.)

Also, Trump did claim there'd be a bloodbath, and many news agencies quoted him, noting the context, which for them isn't important for the headline.

Cry about it, Socks.

LMAO context "isn't important." Whether it's a business metaphor or actual murder in the streets. 🤡

Because Trump talks in dog whistles in order to alarm the audience and to divide them from normal people. Hitler did the same.

Muh dog whistles. You people regurgitate the same buzz words.

LOL - someone is so defensive they had to develop this whataboutist, cherry-picked, out of context selection, which is very good and must have taken a while to gather. Here's the context:

Mango Mussolini tried to lead a coup against the US government WHEN HE LOST the election, which failed, a few people died, there was a lot of damage, congresspeople feared for their lives, and dozens were jailed.

When he mentions a bloodbath of anything, IF HE'S NOT ELECTED, we know that he's not using that language in the same way as CNN would about their political hype.

Of course you'd like to lower the discourse to that of children.

Comparative history is very helpful, unless of course you try to prohibit it on the grounds that it's not childish enough.

If you hear dog whistles then you are a dog.

The only case when you can have a stand about "dog whistles" is an admission: when you are saying "I use this or that as a dog whistle".

When you are ascribing "dog whistles" to someone else, you are just a liar or paranoid schizophrenic or both.

    [–]YoMamma 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Dog whistle is a type of strategy of communication that sends a message that the general population will take a certain meaning from, but a certain group that is "in the know" will take away the secret, intended message. Often involves code words.

    For example:

Republicans say they want to make civil rights for gays a state issue, which is really just a dog whistle strategy for saying that they will refuse to grant equal rights on a federal level.

I know what is a "dog whistle" and what you meant by a "dog whistle".
