This probably sparked how she feels about it. Almost no women want to be in a relationship with a bisexual guy. They might not feel bigoted towards them, but it suggests the guy might be more attracted to something they just aren't, so there's a risk they'll up and leave them and they don't even have a chance to compete. Furthermore, if that happens, it suggests to them everything they had together was a lie.

My ex dated a bisexual and he was always trying to cheat on her with guys. She didn't have all the equipment he wanted.

I believe it. Given the social pressures against men being gay, I think a lot probably come out in stages. Even if you genuinely can find both sexes attractive, you're going to have a preference. My guess is men who would be technically bi, but prefer women, probably just don't come out and just aim for women, with most of the ones who come out having a preference for men.
