If they are lying to their friends' faces then you can't trust a single thing they are saying to strangers on the internet.

Psychologically, that has to drain you. You're knowingly living a lie, and eventually, the mask is going to crack and fall off - probably at an "inopportune" time.

I mourn the loss of the virtues of the past of integrity, honor, consistency, patience, understanding, and wisdom. These are some of the foundations of good societies, but we eschew them with an efficiency and efficacy that is astounding, and our new generations are rudderless because of it. This is the only way I can explain how quickly we've succumbed to this madness and pretending.
