if it's illegal in some countries to question the number, that must mean it's so overwhelmingly substantiated with undeniable proof that it'd surely be easy to just prove it and move on someone is hiding something, and the thought police have control of various legislatures.

No one is debating that Jewish victims (and many others) were sent to slave labor camps, or debating that crimes against humanity were committed.

It's interesting that the "death camps" were all identified as being located in Soviet Controlled portions of Eastern Europe.

Germany occupied most of Europe. However, the death camps were only set up in the east; in Bolsheviki controlled territory.

It was the Molotov-Riebentrop pact. Germany and USSR split Poland at the outset of the war. Then Hitler and Stalin had a staring contest until Hitler blinked and invaded the USSR through Poland.
