Bonus Quote (I'm gay for this possibly non-existent 6th century BCE man, the founder of the Taoism philosophy, wish I could be his student or som' shit):

“Water is fluid, soft, and yielding. But water will wear away rock, which is rigid and cannot yield. As a rule, whatever is fluid, soft, and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard. This is another paradox: what is soft is strong.”

― Lao Tzu"

[Insert feminist joke here.]

Was he the founder?

What I like about Lao Tzu is that he actually wrote. So much of history's famous people said things but did now write: Socrates, Jesus, Confucius, Buddha, etc.

was he the founder?

Allegedly, yes. However, there is debate as to whether Lao Tzu even existed or not; one thing is certain though, someone or some group created Taoism with these beliefs as their core tenants, basically.
