No pickup lines. Unless you’re going with nice shoes wanna fuck, because it’s a joke and a pick up line all at once. Just kidding don’t say that, ever.

Just keep it light hearted, and fun. Ask leading questions. Don’t over analyze everything you’re typing out, they can smell fear over the app.

Lolol true. I hate pick up lines and compliments from people I don't even know. I've seen the dumb stuff that people on Reddit love from Tinder, but again - straight people. Just wondering what's the opinion here.

Yeah, that's what I try to do. I don't fear sending the first message. I've always done it. It just seems like I'm missing something this go around. 🤷‍♀️ I think I've got an unlucky streak.

I usually ask about something in their profile to make responding easy for them or, if feeling low effort, send them a gif of Ralph Wiggum waving hi. I usually don't send the first message and I can say 99% of the first messages I get just say "hi", and not even in Ralph Wiggum gif form, so maybe that's what everyone is expecting.

If you live in a covid affected area, I really think everyone is just burnt out right now so I wouldn't take the unlucky streak personally. After briefly trying to meet people for literal online dating through apps, it quickly seemed pointless and depressing.
