Well you yourself said you're not an exclusively homosexual woman, and yet you decided to call us the "lavender" community because you don't like the term "lesbian." Speaking for myself only, but this is not what I left reddit for.

As someone who does not experience exclusively homosexual feeling, I don't feel it's my place to say what the word should be

Maybe I will use "lavender" for now until I hear from the lavender community about a word they'd prefer.

Lesbian. Lesbian is fine.

I don't personally feel right using "Lesbian" for the reasons I explained. I don't want to impose a word on the community but I need one to use in the meantime, and I know "lavender" is one that has history, so I think that's the best I've got available to me right now.

I would love to hear an alternative if the community or an individual member would like to provide one they'd be happy to see used to refer to them.

I also didn't post here expecting engagement with the content of the post, as I said I was hoping for an explanation of why my post was removed, since I didn't think there was anything wrong or rule-breaking about it.

No one gives a shit about your opinion on what lesbians call ourselves.

Respectfully, while you might not, you cannot speak for any other woman or person besides yourself. And to re-iterate, I'm interested in what the community or individual women in it would like others, including me, to call them, since using the word "Lesbian" to describe people who are not actually Lesbians is not considered ethical by some.

No, I promise. No one gives a shit. We're lesbians. If you feel the need to make a fool of yourself by using other terms you can make up your own.

I would prefer to use a non-appropriative term the community and the women in it are happy with.
