Never expected the leopards to eat their faces.

I love how the same people that say you can't know someone's gender identity just from looking magically know when someone is faking. I especially love when someone goes to the effort to look up some of the attendees online to prove that they have no history of saying they're non-binary online. Get a grip.

are they're inadvertently saying that non binaries are very online and make their gender personalities a big part of that online life? 🤔

And it’s interesting that a group of tech nerds — motivated by numbers and facts — is even entertaining the charade that men can be women.

Nah, many "tech nerds" can be prone to transhumanistic thinking. Which is generally the opposite of accepting human biological reality and limitations. I can understand the appeal of this philosophy, as it emphasizes futuristic freedom and choice. But oy- it's so easy it seems to abandon ethics and fall into idealistic delusion with the infatuation of it.

Fuck. I went to Grace Hopper just a few years ago and it was nothing like this. :( It's gotten so much worse...

When I went, I guess roughly 4-5 years ago now, there were a few random guys I saw there and my friends and I wondered what the hell they were doing there. But that was like, 1 in 100 people or fewer. Not like in that picture.

Selfish fucks. I'm not surprised in the least that there are men willing to stoop that low. It makes me incredibly sad. Men so dominate coding-heavy fields, and this was a place where you could see thousands of women all into coding and tech-related stuff. It was a rarity. And the talks I went to were great... I'm not surprised that men opportunistic enough to lie and pretend they're women and expect other people to lie, would make a beeline for the employer booths.

For context, Grace Hopper used to be a way for women to get a little more access to tech companies that pay competitive salaries. Many of these companies are heavily biased to hire men anyway (especially FAANG). Now, looks like it's just another way for companies to virtue signal even more blatantly...

I might add more later, I'm having a hard time putting this into words. It's just disturbing to see an event I have actually experienced myself be so drastically impacted and harmed in such a short span of time.
