"r/askgaybros has got to be the most toxic subreddit I've ever seen for trans people's mental health. As a gay trans guy I struggle to feel safe in a lot of gay guy online spaces.
The only gay man oriented subreddit that I feel safe at is a subreddit that's specifically targeted towards gay trans guys (can't remember the specific title)
Obviously I know not all cis gay people are like this but holy shit some of them need to chill. Gay trans dudes are called straight women fetishizing gay men essentially.
Honestly as a trans FTM dude I'm so tired of cis gays throwing us under the bus to look better to society.

I got banned from commenting in the community because of the post. I think the ban might be temporary but idk.
Did I do something wrong? I'm rereading my comments under the post and the post itself but I don't see what I did wrong.
I just wanted to vent about the way SOME cis gays treat trans people...

Why must they always force themselves into groups that they perceive as hostile towards them? If you feel unwelcome, that's because you are and you should leave.

I doubt it. Reddit introduced and updated rules recently to disallow "community harassment" from sub to sub.

So posts that call-out other subs for banning a user, or call-out other subs being negative or toxic in general, are seen as potentially inviting brigading and harassment. LGBT (and FTM) mods are covering their asses and removing the posts so they don't get hit with warnings from Admins.

What's ironic about the rule change is that all of that and more happened to our sub and many others over the years - it's always been crickets from Admins, or warnings to mods who report the behavior that WE need to clean up our acts. Its some sweet justice to see mods in these other subs being held accountable finally.
