DiscussionWhat pro-LGB online groups (Reddit, Tumblr, Youtube, anything) do you know of?

TLDR: I am looking for any online places-- comments sections or forums, ideally-- where there is pro-LGB sentiment. What ones would you recommend?

I did this project ages ago and have been meaning to update it: LGB-supportive news sites and content producers - an incomplete list

This is a little bit of a different question, however; I'm looking for discussion groups, not only news outlets. "Discussion groups" includes any place where a number of people who are pro-LGB might congregate to chat about issues facing LGB people.

Since r/AskGayBros has been taken over by the admins and r/WatchRedditDie also succumbed to the sweet kiss of death, and since our sub has gone private, I've been trying to find other pockets of pro-LGB sentiment that haven't been censored. Do you know of any?

A few places that I visit these days:

Reddit

  • r/TumblrInAction - has a vocal anti-gay minority on there, but they're almost always downvoted into oblivion; meanwhile, comments by lesbian, gay and bisexual users are often highly-voted, and other comments are generally sane.

  • r/BlockedAndReported - This is the name of a podcast that is co-hosted by Katie Herzog, who wrote the wonderful piece "Where have all the lesbians gone?". A lot of the comments there are LGB-friendly and question child medical transition.

https://www.reddit.com/r/SocialJusticeInAction/ is similar to TiA but a wee bit more anti-gay. That doesn't particularly bother me, and I think the more that sane LGB voices make themselves evident, the more anti-gay people will soften their position. You don't win people over by insisting on ideological purity, instead you emphasize common ground.

they've gotten alot worse this pride season over the drag queen story hours and bar events. Its harder to speak out there.

So tired of hearing gay marriage >> slippery slope >> choppin' up kids

I understand their anger. Drag queen story hour shouldn't be a thing, and kids shouldn't be in gay bars with neon signs flashing sexual innuendo.

Yeah unfortunately that has also been my experience on there. I suppose one way to change it would be by participating there, though.

I don't know of any, unfortunately.

It seems like the only places you can have an honest conversation these days are the ones that are mostly unmoderated. Which means you're gonna have to deal with getting called slurs by extremists, if you want to participate.

Saidit is the most neutral forum I've been able to find.
