Using "it" for your child is not disturbing at all.

And then slipping to "her" just shows how fake that non-binary bullshit really is. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Supposedly both mom and daughter use it, she, and they interchangeably depending on what feels right at the time - which is, of course, not confusing at all for anyone that interacts with them (although it's not exactly common to use someone's pronouns when talking to them).

I personally enjoy the people in the comments saying that using "it" as a pronoun is dehumanizing. They're right, obviously, but it's funny to me that these are the same people that are always crying about not policing identities, and here they are saying, "I was sure you were a troll because you were using the it pronoun." Well, which is it? Can people identify however they want to or not?

Of course it's a girl. I bet this lovely parent force fed her a bunch of misogynistic bullshit all her life and she doesn't want any of that shit so is trying to opt out of it.

I wish I didn't look up that username on reddit. This person is a 27 year old MTF transperson and is not the biological parent of this kid. Here's one of his recent posts:

I've been working with a group of mostly teens/young adults, many finding themselves not accepted by their parents and struggling to find themselves. I'll spare the bummer details, but one person in the group has been coming to me a lot of the love, support, and advice that their family just... refuses to give.

They finally have the chance to strike out on their own, but feel stuck, and dependant on their family. But well... I offered my home as something as a midpoint, show that they have other options. Things have escalated from there and...

They called me mom.

And I'm... adopting them.

So, he convinced a kid to leave home and move in with him and now they're both referring to themselves as "it". Am I reading this right? This is grooming behavior.

I feel like this needs to be reported to the relevant authorities in whichever country this person is in. That is a massive red flag and needs to be investigated.

Lmao, I hope this is a fake story. Adoption is not that easy is it?

Seriously though... "it". Only English can do this thank god lol

Real adoption isn't but anyone can "help" a child that claims to have been abused and for better or worse only the most soullessly bureaucratic of law enforcement would respond to case like that.

I added it for you :)

The SaidIt app hasn't been updated for quite some time. Allowing users to add flair was a feature request back when it still had a developer, but there's no one to work on it anymore. So it's more of a thread reader than anything.

As much as you joke, I really think we need to rehabilitate the asylum, and it's something I've thought a lot about in recent years.

We sort of have them on a smaller scale in most western countries. If your insanity plea is successful, you get locked in a psychiatric facility for however long you're sentenced. The infamous MTF serial killer Beate/Wolfgang "The Pink Giant" Schmidt spent 15 years locked in one over in Germany. I've heard that the conditions are worse than jail, at least in the US.

Parents who enable this crap are the worst kinds of people.
