How did r/actuallesbians get colonized? Was it originally run by women?

The original founder way way way back (like 10 years ago) realized she was bisexual and left because she didn't feel right running a lesbian sub.

Later, a few more mods left and formed r/lesbianactually instead (5 years ago).

r/actuallesbians was rudderless at times, for a brief moment a straight dude was in charge by accident because he had helped them with coding and when r/lesbianactually team left he was inadvertently put in charge by order of age/seniority.

He left too, and it's current head mod Mollysomething took over. Pretty sure she's actually a woman but the second highest mod was trans and they dated for a while. The two of them were super heavy handed in modding based on personal feelings and created the culture it has now.

Freya-Freed is the user you're thinking of, the person Molly was dating. He left all his mod positions in 2020, and many others left during the Aimee/Ashton Challenor scandal in 2021. There was lots of shaking up in mod teams going on in 2020/2021 across the LGBTQWTF+ Reddit subs, LOL

I used RES to tag the current mod team of r/actuallesbians. Fun fact, there are only 2 actual lesbians on the team:

For historical purposes, here's the mod team from late 2019:

The one "unknown/other" from 2019 is FTM and either bi or hetero, and I didn't feel like making an entirely new category for that.

That's two more than I thought, actually.

They have to keep at least 1 so real lesbians can't say there aren't any.

The 2 who are still there haven't been active on Reddit for a year. The 3 "unknowns" haven't been active for several years. The reason they are tagged "unknown" is because they haven't revealed anything definitive showing they are actually female homosexuals.

Personally, I think my lesbian sisters should be doing exactly what I am. Tag and document it, and share it to anyone and everyone willing to listen. I'm not on most social media, but I'll help you all research - me and WV/NutterButter archive all the controversial things we come across and trade notes, and I love a good investigation.

I mean, even just as a basis, ignoring gender identity woo-woo ... why is a bisexual the lead mod of a lesbian sub? And why are the majority remaining mods MTF?
