Let’s be real. We all know this was the guy in college who interrupted everyone, was incessantly condescending, made everything about himself and, yet, wondered why he couldn’t get a date. Taking some hormones and letting your homophobia fly isn’t going to fix your shitty personality, Brian.

Yes, he is going to have a problem because no woman is going to want to date him. Though that is already likely the case since he apparently has to try harassing lesbians as a last resort after failing with all the straight women.

Godddd why do they all have that 'I'm a psychopath' look in their eyes.

Make it stop.

Because dangerous men often look dangerous.

I'm currently reading The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker. I often see it mentioned in discussions about male violence. I'm only 50 pages in and can enthusiastically recommend it.

Whenever they use the word lady to describe themselves or things about themselves, all I can think of is "Emily Howard was an accurate representation of these people"

The desire to "get back" at gay people shines through again and again. These are not people struggling with crippling anxiety over their bodies and feel "trapped" (as to whether transition is a good cure for that is another discussion). This and the "cis gays fuck 48 year olds in minivans but not trans men" person resent homosexuality and are desperate to control and humiliate gays and lesbians. These are not people looking for love. They are furiously unwilling to accept that their targets are not willing, under any circumstance, to give them sexual access.

I think of the wailing, crying spirits of ghost stories that want to drag unwitting people into the lake or whatever as parables for dealing with toxic, damaged people. Yes, there is something fundamentally sad about people who end up like that, but for the love of God, do not answer their call.

I'd like to think that there is a silent mass of people who struggle with these toxic thought patterns and free themselves, through some combination of therapy and personal growth. Others sit and fume on their blogs about not being able to capture the elusive cisgay. And others are becoming, far, far more aggressive.

Except now any therapy that tries to get them to even think about why they might feel that they're the opposite gender is now considered 'conversion therapy', even though it's well known that youth grow out of being trans but there are rare cases where youth grow out of being homosexual/bisexual.

This article was eye-opening: https://www.vice.com/en/article/939kw5/affirmative-therapy-queer-patients-therapists

I think counseling psychology, as well as the wider society, needs to understand the difference between condemning gay and trans people and holding gay and trans people to the same standard of accountability as other people in the world.

My partner and I were talking about this literally this morning. People are so afraid of offending minorities that they tiptoe either excusing or condoning shitty behavior. They’d rather deal with bullshit than deal with being smeared as homophobic, transphobic, racist, Islamophobic, etc. It’s created a situation where decent people behaving badly aren’t being given the constructive feedback to grow. It’s also created a climate where really toxic assholes are using bigotry as a shield for dickishness.

I think the "shield" thing is spot on. People with less pure motivations can recognize a niche to occupy. I've been around some of the enablers too, and they can get entertainingly whacked out in their allyship saber-rattling. One dude talked about how he was gonna go to prison and make friend with the "Black and Latinx" prisoners. Oh honey: I dare you to to go to the MS-13 guys and tell them they are Latinx.

The problem is T & Q scream homophobia/transphobia whenever they're given any pushback or told no, so psychologists/therapists are afraid to do anything but affirmation.

Well he's not wrong... he's just saying the quiet part out loud.

Technically in "woke world" he is a "lesbian trapped in a man's body" 🤡

Everyone else told me it's a problem, but guess what, you're the problem and I've got control over you and everyone else now.

You are. You are still the problematic one.
