All right, bear with me.

About 3 weeks ago, I made a post about a petition to UK Parliament that got 10k signatures, and that the UK Parliament responded to in a POSITIVE way (direct link to petition). This guy, James Esses, was the person who started that petition. (Thanks, James!)

At the time Esses started the petition, he was working on his master's in psychotherapy. A few days after he posted on social media about it, the master's program expelled him. From a Daily Mail article:

...he launched an online petition in May called 'Safeguard evidence-based therapy for children struggling with gender dysphoria'. However, he was emailed by Metanoia's deputy chief executive Professor Carrie Weston, who said that two members of the public had complained about his 'social media activity'. He was assured it was nothing to worry about. The next day, however, Prof Weston emailed again, telling him he had brought 'negative attention' to Metanoia. His student contract, he says she told him, was 'terminated'. Mr Esses said: 'I'd been working towards becoming a therapist for almost four years and spent tens of thousands on the course.'

In the linked thread, Esses said he is suing Metanoia Institute, his former master's program. I think this may be an important story for us to watch in the coming months.

edit: You can see some people calling out the master's program on their most recent Twitter thread: https://twitter.com/Metanoia_Inst/status/1420487983950704643

Esses did an interview with Glinner (Graham Linehan) yesterday. I haven't had a chance to watch yet. Anyway, imagine being vindictively punished for proposing children should be safeguarded. Just madness.

Metanoia's action against Esses seems to be triggered by Esses' previous interview with Linehan a few weeks ago.

Since the Forstater ruling, Metanoia doesn't have a legal leg to stand on. Hopefully this makes the mainstream news in a big way and once again pushes the issue of child safeguarding into public view.

BAHHAAAA!

They locked their account.

I hope this ruins them. If I were a student, I would certainly be nonplussed about seeing a student punished for reasonable views.

"Last night Prof Weston of the Metanoia Institute said: 'When he was a student Mr Esses made a series of public pronouncements.

'In doing so he brought the institute into disrepute and made his position on the course untenable.'"

LOL the institute has brought itself into disrepute by ignoring safe- guarding measures for children, hope Esses drags them through the mud.
