enbies or bisexuals being able to be lesbians (definitionally homosexual women), and it's grinding on me quite a bit. Why do you need to appropriate a term commonly understood by most of our society? To make yourself feel better? To gain admittance to a group that doesn't involve you? Idk, but as far as I care, people actively taking T or who have relationships with men should not be calling themselves lesbians.

He was almost there. SO CLOSE!

I don't really need people implying any and all AFABs attracted to women as the only valid lesbians

Goddamnit.

Go back! Go back!

definitionally homosexual women

I was wondering why this was posted here until I got to the last sentence and I think I now understand how OP screwed this up so badly.

AMABs attracted to women are heterosexual males <--- this is what they don't want. They have to be "lesbian" in order to not be dudes. I think this is it. It's not just them framing their attraction from the locus of their gender identity and abusing language, as it appears on the surface. Instead, it's about the validation of their gender identity. They're not really talking about their attractions.

"Lesbian" isn't just who they like, as "woman" is the erotic target for AGP. Being "lesbian" is important, because only women can be lesbians. If they're a lesbian, they're a woman.

This gets really tricky because in order to understand what lesbian is--and how it could appeal to them--you have to really, deep down, throw away the gender woo woo, understand that lesbian is a homosexual woman-born-woman. Whilst pretending in a different corner of your brain that that's applicable to yourself when it obviously isn't the case.

I know I mentioned cognitive dissonance on a different thread, but this is such a perfect example.

Festinger argued that some people would inevitably resolve dissonance by blindly believing whatever they wanted to believe.

And it's from here that you probably get "TWAW," if you predicate that before reading OP's post, it makes sense.

Nonbinary folks have been part of the lesbian community tor decades, they’re just more visible now. Nonbinary lesbians aren’t appropriating anything. TERF lesbians trying to kick them out on the other hand...

Ugh. That's not what "TERF" lesbians are saying at all. These people just don't know how to fucking listen. The big evil "TERF" lesbians know that sexual orientation is based on sex and not gender, so a woman who identifies as non-binary is still a lesbian because she is female no matter what nonsensical gender she identifies as.

I swear, being on queer Twitter is a minefield enough as it is

Oh, yeah? Try being on AGP-dominated Reddit.

Oh, wait...

First time reading r/honesttransgender. I thought 'Oh transmedicalist. Maybe some sense'. No, full of crazy. Neopronouns galore and I can't make heads nor tails of what they're trying to express.

My impression is that they're trying really, REALLY hard to be reasonable about... being unreasonable.

It's because women's boundaries are never respected by society men - especially lesbians not by men who call themselves lesbians. Lesbian means you're a woman who loves women.

Fixed it.

At first i thought they were making a rational point then the narcissism hits all the way at the end like a dramatic ending. OHHH it's all about you? Got it, makes sense now. "Lesbian" must be reserved for actual women because you, a man, needs to use the word to feel more like a woman... Got it.

A lot of us don’t even like the “new” definition and we aren’t allowed to say that. They saw the progress us trans women where making and jumped on and sort of hijacked the entire thing. We wanted to be included in lesbianism because we are women and they saw this as the perfect time to strike and they have made everything about them. They will say “non men loving non men is inclusive to trans and NB people” basically proving that they don’t see us as women too.

That's like, what? A conquistador standing on a pile of dead indians concerned about some other europeans coming to take "his land".
