"twink" is not a personality and im starting to really get annoyed by gay children being brainwashed into thinking male femininity should be like imitating shitty superficial female femininity. it's just so pathetic and wrong. i get that homophobia exists and prevented gay males from exploring their own femininity and expressed it in weird ways but we need to move passed that. So many gay males think gay culture includes "diva" icons. It's creepy and ends up damaging a lot of gay kids. And then they grow up wondering why no gay guy would find them attractive. Being naturally feminine and gay is fine but imitating kim kardashian is just highly, highly sexually and aesthetically repulsive.

I think the same goes for lesbians. There's some lesbian on tik tok and youtube who's supposedly extremely popular and she just seems like she's on the verge of transing any second. there's nothing natural about a white masculine lesbian acting like a ghetto black guy in her mannerisms, body movements and speech. there's something deeply wrong and creepy about us when we're brainwashed to be like this and it comes from not developing our culture properly to channel our gender...and some of us grow up being weird.

we're not even imitating them, we're brainwashed by them with this heterosexism.

Perfect answer.

This is what's wrong with the gay and lesbian community. There needs to be some sort of demarcation zone and some sort of separatism from heterosexuals in terms of culture to give experiences of what gays and lesbians are like and that stabilizes a lot of children and affirms the parts of themselves that arent damaged by being raised as straight kids.

That "twink" guy seems similar to how men would draw women in cartoons in the 90's that i grew up with: big sausage lips, annoying, narcissistic. Sure, there are differences in personalities and everyone has "quirks" but he's not even painted as a villain but as a positive representation for gay kids that teaches them to be cheap imitations of highly superficial women.

And even though they cant help it because it's ingrained in their psyche, you never see them being brainwashed by how a 50 year old woman's femininity is or a 60 year old's or a mother's femininity. It's the hyper sexual type. and when that's set in, it almost seems permanent and takes a great deal to recover from.

That is supremely fucked up. Acting like the worst kind of woman does not make a man attractive. In fact, heterosexual and bisexual men don’t want to date women who behave in this way. But if you point that out, you get accused of having "internalised homophobia", because apparently not wanting to be around shallow, obnoxious and crude men means you hate gay men? Funny thing is, there would be less homophobia out there if few gay men acted like that, and if this behaviour was condemned by the gay male community.

Yes, stereotypes! Thats what we need more of! /s

There are a lot of reasons why gay teenagers kill themselves. Homophobia is one of them, yes. But another reason is the fact that crap like this is presented as the only way to be gay. That’s one reason why it took me three years to come to terms with my orientation. Imagine being a 16 year old lad who is gay coming from a Polish working class family and seeing this shit; this show will do a lot of damage to young gay people, because then they are going to associate being gay with undesirable traits like shallowness, obnoxiousness, rudeness, hyper sexuality and being an attention whore. Their parents are also going to associate homosexuality with these abhorrent traits and they would try to cure their gay teens or push their gay teens away because no self respecting person wants to be around a loud, obnoxious, vapid person. This is one reason why society doesn’t trust us, why countries like Hungary see us as a bad influence on children, and why internalised homophobia is a thing.

Why can’t there just be a superhero who just so happens to be gay, but is interesting for other reasons? Or better yet, why can’t we just encourage gay teenage boys to look up to adult male figures regardless if these men are straight, gay or bisexual, and see these men as role models? Gay boys already look up to female role models, we might as well look up to straight male role models too, right? Maybe that would help gay boys to grow to become more confident in both their orientation and their manhood, help them become good role models who teenage boys of all orientations can look up to, and then we’d be able to write gay characters in shows and movies that are believable. Proper characters, not these fake, vapid insults that Netflix is shoving down our throats. I’d rather watch all 8 episodes of Allen Gregory back to back twice than this shite, and Allen Gregory is horrible.

This right here. And while we're at it, when we are emulating masculine ideals and traits, why the "toxic masculinity" superwarrior? Why not the loving, caring dad who supports his family and knows how to fix anything?

Exactly. A lot of writers in Hollywood these days seem to have bad relationships with their dads, because most dads in American movies and television are either unforgiving tyrants, insensitive robots or weak bumbling losers. A good dad is a provider, a protector, a teacher, a problem solver and an emotional crutch, and he is positive in a masculine way rather than toxic or incompetent in a masculine way.

And it's gay actor Sean Hayes who created this abomination.

Just imagine a show titled "N-Force" about stereotypical black people who eat fried chicken and watermelon.

Couldn't we have more competent, low-key gay characters like Ray Gillette in Archer, or Captain Holt in Brooklyn 99? Where they happen to be gay, but their gayness isn't literally their defining, only feature.

This is appalling. It's not good representation, and it's not even funny parody. It's trying way too fucking hard to the point that it ends up just cringe as all hell.

I liked the fact that Ray from Archer was more than just a gay guy but was still the butt of jokes like the other characters without devolving into stereotypes.

Huh. Not a single female character in that trailer.

I bet lesbians would be embarrassed if there was a lesbian character on that show. Then again, if there was a female character, chances are she’d be a heterosexual fag hag.

Or a trans “man”

Or a trans “MA’AM”. Seriously, there’d be a heterosexual man in a revealing dress and they’d call him a lesbian.

Wasn't the black woman voiced by Wanda Sykes, who's a lesbian herself? But the art style makes it unclear as fuck.

Hilarious comment on YouTube:

This looks like something Rockstar would put in their GTA tv-commercials ironically…

this is... highly offensive. this is just every stereotype in the book and what every homophobe thinks about gay men. like i'm pretty sure my religious homophobic uncle could've written some of these "jokes"

A writer attempts damage control pretendng that the trailer was badly edited. First the writer identifies as "Queer" (which is meaningless) and second I fail to imagine in which context those jokes would be acceptable (and funny).

[–]lovelyspearmintLesbeing a lesbian 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Exactly. Like, I don't think context would have helped any of the jokes and made them any less offensive or unfunny.

From the responses it seems the genderosexuals hate it too. Not enough pan/ace/aro/furry/kink/fetish/narcissist representation

If you’re trying to pander to gay people, at least make your characters relatable to them…

Wow, the cringe in this video leaves the gate on a full-on sprint.

This is so denigrating it seems like it was purposefully made to be so.
