I have no time for these people either.

It's weird. I'm 52, lived in cosmopolitan places my whole life, NYC/SF, fairly "on the scene" when I was younger in that I loved dance clubs blah blah.. I have never known an out bisexual man in my life. Probably lots of closeted ones. I know they exist of course but.. if you're a closeted bi guy with a girlfriend, why am I supposed to see you as a peer when we have to go through a fucking ordeal our whole lives that you don't? Coming out to friends and family alone is a harrowing rite of passage for gay people. Especially 30 years ago when I did (they were all lovely thankfully). Oh, and the absolute devastaion of AIDS that wiped out the generation of gay men just older than me, that was my probable fate.. it really is crazy-making to see straight people taking on this "queer"LGBTQI++ identity to be cool, without a second thought. And they scream at gay people for pointing this out. Then there's the issue I've seen spoken of here by lesbian women: falling in love with another woman who goes off with a man is incredibly painful, and I've been in love with aguy with a girlfriend and as a teen that was excruciating. I don't know what else to say except- nothing against bisexuals, but they seem fine. As in, don't worry about them. They take care of themselves really well, which means 90 percent of the time they end uo with an opposite sex partner. So happy for you guys!

The AIDS crisis was a tragedy, especially in America. And that crisis has played a big role in why the gay community in America is so fucked up. And because America is the dominant western country the gay culture there influences gay cultures in other western countries, especially Ireland. And looking at the state of the modern gay community, I cannot blame bisexual men who have only had opposite sex relationships and hookups, and who have never disclosed their orientations. It’s their business, so it’s up to them whether they come out or not what they do with their bodies anyway, but I can see why these men won’t come out or won’t have sex with other men. What matters though is how a man like that reacts to a gay man or another bisexual man comes out to him. If this man shames the other man for being gay or being openly bisexual, or tries to take advantage of the other man, then he’s a sack of shit. But if the man just listens to the other man and is supportive of the other man, then that’s all he has to do, and that’s good enough for me.

Sounds like a scenario from a gay-friendly independent movie and nothing like real life. I actually don't know what you're talking about. Listening and supporting bisexuals because gay men are meant to be their therapists or something? Sounds nice i suppose in fiction. Why do I have to do that?

No, I meant that the bisexual man who’s never had sex with another man being understanding and supportive when another man comes out to him as bisexual or gay.
