For those not aware of it, this is an Australian program where marginalised people, or people who have experienced certain things, are asked what are often the first questions that everyone else has about them.

This episode was pretty hard to watch simply because quite a few of the women identified as 'queer' rather than lesbian, and there was a transbian who talks about how hard it was to come out (his coming out story is ended with him 'jumping into the ocean and emerging from the water as a beautiful lesbian' 🤢

What's everyone else's thoughts on this?

Shit, it's probably region locked. Sorry about that :/

Why do websites do that? All they're doing is increasing VPN sales. Unless all these companies get kickbacks from VPNs, they're not helping themselves at all by making absurd region locks

I think it's more of a situation where the programs are funded by the government, ergo should not be available for any people from other countries that aren't taxpayers? But it doesn't explain private companies region locking.

And things like Netflix will have certain shows region locked. The only thing I can imagine is that some shows may be illegal in some places, like a show with a gay character being a big no in Russia, but then there'll be the US or European countries on the blacklist for some shows, which makes little sense to me.

With Netflix it's because of greedy IP owners trying to squeeze more profit out of the content. They charge Netflix a licensing fee per county. I don't think Netflix really cares but they need to be able to go back and say they did everything they could to region lock if the IP owners take them to court over it.

If you're looking for a good free VPN, try ProtonVPN. It's free with an email on their site (also free to create) protonmail.

ABC iview posted a snippet on their YouTube showing one the questions lesbian discuss and you see the transbian putting in their two cents worth.

Their totally-clueless and out-of-place two cents. Clearly no experience with actually being a lesbian.

The best part is when he talks about not using his dick, or more accurately 'i know it's there, and technically it gives me pleasure, but I don't have to use it. Sex doesn't just have to be piv sex'. :/

What an asshole.

I enjoyed the fact that those clips were way shorter than the ones in which actual women were speaking.

So you are "technically" a dude but we just can't say that to your face, got it!
