What country is your black friend from? Was he black American or black African? How black is he? These questions sound crazy but the experience will vary for a black person based on many factors: country, sex, skin tone.

African. Very-very black. In part of country where I am living we have only black people from Africa, because rich or very smart people from there are coming here to receive education. So most people here when seeing black people are thinking that "smart or rich guy". Almost all of them are male, very rarely females are coming from Africa, I guess because of sexism. But we have mixed race black women here, when those men are staying here and marrying, instead of returning to Africa. They are still "blacker" in skin color than american biracials.

He had some engineering talents. As I said before - black people who are getting here are almost always either exceptionally smart or just rich.

Interesting that second half of our coutnry is influenced by Russia and Russia is calling all black people as "monkeys" and in general very xenophobic. So we have like half of country very-very tolerant and non-racist (like skin color/race is not even considered ever, I am never considered that black friend as other to me until he started complaining about chinese racism, and then I was like "Oh yeah, he is black" - so american racism is often very weird concept to me) and second half of country are mildly racist, lol.

Most chinese people I know are from Taiwan and I lived in communistic USSR and had issues there, so I am a bit prejudiced against mainland China :D

Well, Taiwan is still considered as part of mainland China by majority of countries and by China themselves, they just have some local authonomy in some of their descisions. And they often hate mainland China, as Beijin want to have complete and full control over every small step of everyone.

I know Taiwan is seen as that of belonging to China but to be honest, I thought majority of the world did not agree since America recognizes Taiwan as an independent nation. That's me being American centric then.

Contrary to Flor and the gay guy, there are plenty of Asian people who find black people attractive and if he has money, that's a plus. He'll find someone in Asia if he stays and if he desires to.
