At the moment I think this is a bit of a weak narrative. For all the positives about this sub, it does have its fair share of hysteria and panic about this topic. From what I've seen, the extent of the mainstream LGBT community's "acceptance" of paedophiles is "They should never act on their attractions, but also shouldn't be stigmatised for something they can't control." And I see nothing wrong with that sentiment.

Outside of scandals like Aimee (and I see that more as a reflection of Reddit's questionable values more than anything else) I really don't see where this "the LGBT+ community now welcomes pedos!" narrative is coming from. At best it's an extremely fringe subset of the community that sees widespread backlash when they make their intentions known.

I'm open to discussion though.
