I can't remember for sure but I think the "Slippery Slope" argument started before the fight for gay marriage.

I think a lot of what are now referred to as gender critical feminists (2nd Wave feminist-ish), many of whom were some of the strongest and earliest heterosexual supporters of gay rights, feel a bit betrayed by formerly-gay organizations, now TQ+ focused, worldwide attacks on women's sex-based rights, women's sports and women's sex-segregated spaces.

Older people to the right of GC feminists will remember the Slippery Slope arguments, and it won't take much convincing for them to blame all the gender madness on "The Gays."

So all in all, gender ideology has been a disaster for homosexual rights, and a lot of the blame can be laid on the same organizations that fought for gay rights, but now hijacked by the genderists.

It's been used for decades. A big argument against homosexuality being decriminalised in the 60's and 70's was that "it's a slippery slope to beastiality and paedophilia being legalised" etc.

Yes, I do seem to remember that Slippery Slope argument stretching back to when I was very young.
