Documentary sounds like a disaster. Was it supposed to be critical or did they just do so by accident?

I think it was meant to be a neutral look. There was no narration that I can remember to sway opinion one way or the other.

BUT the interesting thing is that they didn't edit out the bad stuff to make the parents look good or to make the kids look like these all-knowing supernatural beings who OF COURSE know absolutely 100% for sure they are "the wrong gender" like so many of these shows do. Especially with Avery and Jay, the cameras caught that vulnerable 'I'm not sure if I'm going down the right path' expression on those kids faces, even if the kids are not capable of expressing that sentiment out loud. With Phoenix, it was just so obvious that he never believed he was a girl. Even with Leena, they made sure to show that he came out as a gay dude before coming out as trans, and ended up dating a straight guy who turned out to be an undercover gay dude. If these documentary-makers turn out to be undercover "terfs" I won't be surprised. But I do believe they went in trying to be neutral and honest.

This tends to happen regardless of what angle they want to film.

I remember the Louis Theroux with trans kids, and there was this one little boy who had like 3 sisters.

It was clear he wasn't as "rough and tumble" as he was supposed to be and his folks were pushing him to be trans because he wasnt your stereotypical boys boy.

Louis asks him outright of he'd like to be a girl and he says he isn't sure.

It's really sad, they're destroying our gay or non conforming youth 😔
