Will the people on that sub be posting on Saidit? Because Reddit went to Hell many years ago. I hope the mods of r/TrueGayMen were proactive and set up a sub Saidit on this site, because it was only a matter of time before they got nuked by the Reddit admins.

Reddit is still by far the best at niche hobbies. It's utterly useless for anything even remotely related to politics but its large userbase does make it really helpful for people's hobbies or specific interests.

It's great for that really specialized stuff. Which is why I and others find it hard to avoid going there.

For instance, I went to the sub for a video editing freeware and the official developer swoops right in to answer my question. Like Twitter, it is the default site for its particular type of social media platform, and so many varied groups have a presence there.

So, while I frequently dump on Reddit(justifiably) for its bias and heavy-handed tactics to silence dissent, I have to admit there are few decent alternatives.
