By your camp's logic sex and gender are seperate, the assigned female at birth bit makes no sense. No doctor turned anyone male or female at birth, that's the sex that was observed and that everyone is born with. If a doctor had said that Ellen/Elliot was a male at birth that would have been scientifically dishonest, females release the fsh hormone which contribute to the maturation of the ovarian follecule, which leads to periods, and that is a female biological process not a male one wether said female grows up to be uncomfortable with her sex or not. Again no doctor assigned anyone a sex, they observed it, "born female/male" would make more sense.
