I just think people should respect other people's sexual orientation regardless the age. I know there are people out there who take some time to figure it out. I know there are some people who do think they have a certain sexuality only to find out later it's not the case. But! There are also plenty of people who just know at a young age their sexuality. It was horrible for me growing up to have people constantly doubting my words and feelings, telling me it's a phase and that I shouldnt "exclude men right away" or "close the doors right away" or some other bs. If someone tells you he/she's gay, people should fucking respect that just as they respect straight people. No one goes around telling straight people "they're so young and shouldn't exclude the same sex". It makes young gays and lesbians feels like there's something wrong with them and as if they aren't like their straight counterparts.

The adults in their lives are in a fair number of cases being actively prevented from doing that, or are having an end-run done around them.
