Gay = homosexual male.

There aren't any other requirements, you just need to be a homossexual men and that's it. Being gay is no lifestyle or choice of presentation, a gay men can be very sexually foward or reserved and it makes no difference. Effeminate or hyper masculine? No problem!

You know what I really hate? People that take "gayness" (agh...) as a piece of clothing that they take in and out as is convenient for them, because it's pretty easy to gloat about 'how gay' you are when you live in a middle class ultra-liberal bubble isn't? There's a name for that: clout chasing.

In the moment their 'gayness' is of no benefit to them they'll just drop it, like yesterday's out of fashion gadget. There's no thing more insulting than this.
