For me a more complete sea lion analogy would go like this:

Woman and man are minding their own business. Sea lion decides to hang around with them uninvited, and they are polite enough to not say anything. The sea lion annoys them more and more, and eventually he starts getting demanding and even violent. Eventually the woman and the man leave, and the woman says she wants to hang out just with the man. Then the sea lion pops up and can't believe why he is being the victim of such exclusion. The sea lion keeps saying that he's not in any way forcing the woman to hang out with him, but at the same time the sea lion won't leave her alone and won't stop bothering her.
