I really don’t understand why we can’t just let kids be kids. Focus on stuff like math class and soccer tryouts instead of adult issues like sexual orientation.

International Pronouns Day

Is this joke? This must be joke! lol

Everyone else is lesbian, bissexual.

More like everyone else is larping imarite?

I really doubt that most of these supposed bissexual and lesbian woman actually maintained such identities after college. I remember being linked to some papers about "sexual fluidity" by some TQs that coincidentally all pointed out to a massive drop in bissexual/lesbian-identified woman after the age of 30.

I wonder why...

Yep. I’m all for teachers providing support to teenagers struggling with their sexual orientations, but nothing beyond that in schools please.

I finished this book earlier this week. It’s truly horrifying. At one point the author interviews a girl who was one of over twenty trans “men” at her small school. The author asked her how many were lesbians. The girl said “none.” All the real lesbians are being transed, while bi girls are calling themselves lesbians instead.

All those special days, events, months for lgbtq. I understand the need and desire to have some acknowledgement and focus on lgbt, but it does not need to be so much. As a gay man, I got tired and annoyed reading through the list. I can't imagine participating in all of that.

Am I the only person who just wants nothing more from society than my sexuality not mattering? I obviously don't want to be persecuted for being gay, but I don't need to be celebrated for it either.

I feel kind of bad for being an actual lesbian my age now. Being 16 a lot of people my age buy into this ideology - I've met girls who identify as aroace (with a long dating history of boys...) and even "nonbinary" people. I've met more bisexuals than I can count on both hands since I started college and somehow I always find out they're bisexual 5 minutes into the conversation because they'll tell me or have an obnoxious pride pin of some sort. Statistically they can't all be telling the truth! I feel like I have to keep my sexuality a secret to not be associated with this craziness. I have an actual personality and I don't want that to be overshadowed and to become LGBTQ+ in people's heads, same basket as the girls with bad hair styling who put their pronouns in their bios.

Small rant but I feel like we've taken 2 steps forward and then a giant running leap into crazy land.

Very relatable, I am 20 and knew I was a lesbian from age 9. Compared to many of my classmates I was very early with this, obviously. I've met an absolutely insane amount of bisexual girls, most of whom had never dated a woman. I am sure a big part of them are actually bisexual, but nowadays it turned into this thing where girls say they are bi just to gain popularity points, without ever intending on doing more than kiss a girl when she's drunk. Also, a ton of people who wear rainbow things or keep talking about their sexuality. I've only met one other lesbian, I went on a date with her last year. Insane, right? I've only met ONE lesbian in real life in my 11 years of being out.

I still very clearly remember telling my friends I had a girlfriend. In my language, girlfriend means the same as "friend who is a girl". So when I was telling them about my girlfriend who lived in the UK, they all assumed it was just a friend (who was a girl). It wasn't until a year into our friendship, when I posted a picture of us kissing on my instagram story, that I got so many messages from my friends: "I THOUGHT YOU SAID SHE WAS JUST A FRIEND??? ARE YOU GAY??"

And I realised I had completely neglected to tell them I am a lesbian. Oops. Now it only comes up when people ask me if I have boyfriend ("No, and hopefully never, because I am a lesbian"), of if people ask me if I think a man looks hot ("uhm no. I mean, objectively he is good looking, but as a lesbian I can't pass much judgement on the hot department. Do you see that chest hair? Gross.")

Usually you can pick those people out easily though. They have weird coloured, short hair, alternative clothing style, pronouns in their bio, and post too many stories on instagram filled with fake activism. That's my cue to leave lol

It's a fad. They're trans for attention.
