Yeah, I'm more of a grayed-pastelsexual. Dusty rose, gray-lavender, and gray-green? Gotta fan myself.

Paint swatches = HAWT

In 2020, your sexual orientation is just your favorite colour. #staywoke

I am attracted to that color, this makes perfect sense.

That sounds hot, purple Kat.

I mean, frankly, if they followed their own rules that'd be great. If I can mark that I'm a cis gay male and only want to see other cis gay/bi males, that's fine by me.

But it seems like apps that allow you to use neo-genders / neo-orientations can't even follow their own rules. They allow you to be a special gender and a special orientation, and then let you match with people who are just looking for men/women.

I heard you can't filter trans people on tinder. But this isn't going to make people date them. How long until blocking them isn't allowed either?

Hahaha. 'Heteroflexible' was a new one for me, so I foolishly looked and found this insanity:

https://www.healthline.com/health/heteroflexible#underlying-contention

[–]LasagnaRossa 10 insightful - 3 fun10 insightful - 2 fun11 insightful - 3 fun -  (3 children)

Heteroflexible is for those people who are bisexual with a preference for the opposite sex but want to keep the "straight" label, change my mind.

[–]Q-Continuum-kin[S] 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I'm actually ok with that term. It's just bi with a far tilt on a Kinsey scale.

[–]dramasexual 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Yeah same. Nothing wrong with the orientation and they're describing it accurately which is refreshing.

[–]bastetkat 5 insightful - 5 fun5 insightful - 4 fun6 insightful - 5 fun -  (12 children)

So I decided to look some of these up and I-

• Reciprosexual is a sexual orientation on the asexual spectrum meaning someone who does not experience sexual attraction unless they know that the other person is sexually attracted to them first.

• Akiosexual/akioromantic, meaning someone who can feel sexual or romantic attraction but doesn't want those feelings to be returned by whoever they're attracted to.

• Aceflux is a gray asexuality and it describes someone whose experience of sexual attraction varies over time. Someone who is aceflux, for example, may feel very strongly asexual one day, but less strongly asexual another day.

Sounds like typical rapist.

It puts the lotion in the basket... but unwillingly... if you agree to put the lotion in the basket mommy gets blue balls.

[–]justasking918273Ally 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

My first thought was that it sounded like a fear of relationships or of commitment.

[–]VioletRemiCat, homosexual one 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Well, then it is not "no returning of feelings or attraction". As you can be friends, for example.

[–]justasking918273Ally 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Well, it says "who can feel sexual or romantic attraction but doesn't want those feelings to be returned". Friendships aren't about sexual or romantic feelings.

I mean, I can relate to that. Am I a special-orientation now?

As much as we criticize these neo-genders / neo-orientations here, it's amazing that many of us would probably fit their definitions, since they're basically treating basic personality traits as new genders and orientations.

[–]bastetkat 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So many straight people can relate as well. Isn’t it great? LGBTQIAP2S++ is for everyone... except for the evil “cishets”!

So: just "not a rapist", then!

Um... have we actually gotten to the point where this no longer, yanno, goes without saying???

[–]les4leshomonormative 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

This reminds me of "demisexual" being basically a way to turn "prude" into a sexuality. Insecurity and shyness is not a sexuality!!!

[–]justasking918273Ally 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I don't think this has to do with prudishness but probably that emotional factors are more important than how "hot" someone is, however, this is neither weird nor a separate orientation. I guess for most people out there it's a mix of both factors anyway. I'd say this label is a result of a society where you're expected to immediately want to fuck everyone just because they're remotely "hot".

[–]les4leshomonormative 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I know we're not that welcoming of radical feminist ideas in this sub but, effects of pornography on culture lmao. Kids think if they're not a deviant there's something wrong with them and they have to start making up new sexualities to explain it

[–]justasking918273Ally 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I was also thinking of things like "you need to have sex after X dates" and stuff like that which will certainly make people feel weird or wrong when they just don't have those feelings at this point. Some people move faster, some move slower, some are primarily attracted by factors relating to sex appeal, others are more attracted by emotional factors. It's all okay in my opinion.

I agree that nowadays many of those labels are (ab)used by the "uwu crowd" and others who desperately want to be special but I always assumed those labels were initially created because people felt weird or alienated by certain things and expectations and were trying to find out what's wrong with them and find others who are feeling the same way. In many cases, however, there was nothing wrong with them, what was "wrong" were the expectations to do certain things and be a certain way.

If I recall it correctly, graysexuals are almost asexuals or something like that.

[–]LeaveAmsgAfterBeep 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Graysexuals are people who unconvincingly live as asexuals who like to tell you under what circumstances they enjoy sex and masturbation once you’re cornered and haven’t asked in the first five minutes of meeting them.

[–]MezozoicGayoldschool gay 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Am I reading it correctly, it is "I am sexually active, but no one knows about it, so I am asexual"?

[–]LeaveAmsgAfterBeep 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No, with them its “I am asexual, sexually active, and EVERYONE must know how much and under what circumstances I have sex and enjoy it including personal masturbation habits and that I am still valid as an asexual!” Or at least, that’s the odd 50 of em I’ve run into over the years but to be fair that was mostly online lol. Though some are like that in real life interactions too. Also sorry my wording might have been a bit meh in prior post.

Which dating app is this?? And why is there hetero/homoflexible while hetero/gay/lesbian is missing in the partner section??

[–]Q-Continuum-kin[S] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

It's okcupid. I think this is one of the extra matching sections which you don't technically need to fill out to get matches.

[–]lavender_menace 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They spelled „Accio Sex!“ wrong.
