It was happening with lesbians for years now. Every outlet was saying "queer women" or "queer people", sometimes "women loving women", but never "lesbian". Even in news about hate crime against lesbians for them being lesbians there were said "queer people" or "against queer women", and never mentioned it is hate crime based on homosexuality. Now they are coming for gay men, and people starting to notice.

Yeah, I get most of my news from the BBC and I've noticed they will usually call two women anything but lesbian. Probably because they're always quoting stonewall who also refuse to use the word.
