Side note, I believe this is the James Cantor who resigned in protest from the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality just a few weeks ago. The specific subject of his resignation focused no-platforming he received when he attempted discussion of trans issues.

Whoaaaa, that is some really important context. Thank you for sharing! Damn, the title of this post would more accurately be "Example of academic pressured into bowing to trans ideology" or something.

A debate ensued, not focused on any argument or evidence submitted, but on whether such discussions should even be permitted.

Wow. Not surprised, though. I am inclined to believe that he was pressured into adding this throwaway line that I criticized in my post.

Hmm, think I should delete and make another post with a better title? I didn't know this background, and I feel like the current title is misleading. Or I'll just update with some more context.

I don't know, Cantor at least has gone on record as believing TWAW, in the affirmation model, and in giving hormones to children as young as 12. This wasn't far enough for trans zealots who consider him a transphobe for not pushing for younger ages. They are dangerously out of their f#cking minds.

Gotcha. It's crazy how willing the people deep into this are to dismiss even those who largely agree with them.
