How do I feel about trans people? Largely ambivalent but accepting. When it comes to bodily autonomy, I am very Liberal/Libertarian. An adult who feels they understand the risks, benefits, etc should be able to do what they want to their own body, assuming it does not negatively affect or harm others. I don't mind using someone's preferred pronouns. I work with and have trans people in my friend group. I just have no interest dating a trans person.

Now, how do I feel about the trans rights movement? I disagree with a lot of their tactics. I see a lot of censorship, bully tactics, and appeals to emotion. I see a lot of activists say they would love to have communication with people who disagree with them, but are also quick to demonize and use scare tactics against those same people. If they can't win an argument, they appeal to emotion, talk about violence or murder rates, or name call. Almost like if they are losing an argument, they look for any reason to call the other person a terf or transphobe as a trump card to win the argument. The other person can't possibly be right or have valid points if they are a terf or transphobe, right? I don't think this is a reflection of the majority of trans people though.

True, but where do we draw the line? Even if it doesn't negatively affect or harm others. Especially when it shows that for some, transitioning does not help, and still commit suicide. As others pointed it, when it comes to other mental illnesses, we don't enable them.
