Yeah we have a thread on s/lesbians about this too. It would be nice if LGB had its own place sort of like how Female Dating Strategy and now Gender Critical did. I know that there's a lesbian board on Ovarit but that wouldn't work because not all of us are GC and I think the admins of Ovarit want it to be mainly female focused so that wouldn't work for LGB people.

they still allow men to be part of the community:

Ovarit is run by a team of radical feminist women dedicated to safeguarding women’s ability to have community with other women and speak freely about issues that matter to us as individuals and as a class. We created this space because we, like those who seek to silence us, understand the power of women's voices and experiences. We are here to make sure they are heard.

The Ovarit community is made up of a broader group of people. Ovarit is open to women of all persuasions. Men are allowed to join some conversations, but must respect boundaries. This corner of the internet is one of increasingly few places, real or virtual, unapologetically dedicated to prioritizing and centering women.

Allowed to join some conversations is not the really the same as being part of the community.

Agreed. Ovarit would be a good platform if it were only serving as a host for these conversations, but even as a lesbian I would be uncomfortable making an LGB space in a womens' community and I imagine it's more uncomfortable for gay/bi men. It is depressing to have no space left for us as a community -- I've blocked most of the Saidit pages that aren't related to women's or gay issues because this site does have a vile userbase unfortunately

I just find it odd to have the entire platform a women’s only (almost) space, it just makes it useless if you ask me - the one thing that was good about reddit was the sheer number of users and subreddits, made it easy to find answers to things. Having circles (as they call it) being female only would have been fine with me, but its their platform so it is their choice. I don’t lament it all that much though save for the fact that s/Lesbians seems to be split in half where one half is at ovarit and the other half here. And yes there are some vile people using this site but its not like I have to interact with them. There are quite a few people I’d rather avoid at overit too though.
