People are waking up everyday in the thousands, the minority who oppose TRA views are growing stronger everyday; but I agree, this place needs to be advertised.

Feel free to advertise us on Reddit to people who missed our announcements pre-banning. I mean, there were over 20K of us there and only 1400 made it here so far, so clearly many people are out of the loop.

Since you can't get an automatic hyperlink to SaidIt on Reddit, you can copy-paste this and it will auto-format like a sub mention would:

[s/LGBDropTheT](https://saidit.net/s/LGBDropTheT)

I like the sneaky approach of doing it that way, but you can also just say where we are now, lol

Nice. Anyway, I'm already sharing the link over the internet, whenever I see an opening. People will have to be a little more patient about the numbers. Expecting it to be at Reddit levels in a few weeks is a wee bit of a stretch. Another site login requirement and the general site user base will already eliminate a ton of casuals.

that's what is confusing me... what happened to the 20k? You advertised so much in the last few days about us moving.

Is it the far right wingers here? On the site in general I mean.

A lot of it is laziness and convenience. If you have a Reddit account already, you just click "subscribe" to the sub you want.

Having to create a new account on a different site just for one sub is a pain in the ass, relatively speaking.

It only took me a minute, but I still had this feeling of, "Ughhhhh, another stupid login for another site." First-world problem for sure.

20K took a year and a half to build. The 1400 we're at now, that took about 4 months.

We stated SaidIt was our backup for maybe about a year? No one really read or paid attention to our announcements though, there were questions about it constantly. We only started using AutoMod to comment in the final few weeks, when we realized we were good and truly fucked.

There was a core group of people who were well-known on the sub, yourself included. You became Approved Users during our lockdown times because you were either regular posters or regular commenters, and understood our purpose and promoted it well. You were vital in our daily interactions, and helped draw in others who were new and just beginning to understand.

The rest were readers and lurkers who supported us but did not interact beyond upvotes/downvotes, were randoms who found us and shared here and there but weren't regulars, or were haters scouring us for any infractions and reporting us to Admins or other subs who would do so.

Reddit as a platform has become more and more hostile to differing opinions and discussions. I've been there for nearly 10 years (among various accounts) and I've watched it become a political/media entity instead of user forums about random subject matters.

Reddit suppresses opinions that its financers and advertisers do not agree with. It's a US-based company, so capitalistic, with foreign investors (so spin-the-wheel and see what it lands on).

Are there far-right-wingers on SaidIt? Sure, of course. Because they exist and they also got deplatformed. What Reddit and their far-left extremists fail to realize is that deplatforming doesn't actually eradicate the opposition, it just moves them somewhere else.

I've been watching this site ever since s/WatchPeopleDie got the axe and migrated. This site allows freedom for (nearly) all expression, so they're allowed to actually exist. Everyone who got cancelled moved here (or perhaps to Ruqqus). Of course there's a majority of controversial people here right now. The rest of the people on Reddit are just waiting to be banned before fleeing. Reddit users are just holding on and preparing to exit, while everyone who was already forced out is already here.

If anyone thinks this site's users are shitty, well, they can take it up with the specific subs and those people. But users don't get to hate-report every single comment or shitpost without consequence anymore, or depend on the site Admins to massage their girldicks because "someone hurt my feelz".

That applies to the far-right, as well as our movement. So peeps need to keep that in mind. A free platform for LGBDTT means a free platform for others too.

Sadly, I am gonna call it now. This site day's are deeply numbered. There is simply to much blatent racism and anti-semitism on display on the main front page for the dude running this place not to be being pressured already to change things.

I would put good money on that.

I imagine a lot of people didn't want to have to migrate to a new site, especially one that's still growing itself. It doesn't have quite the wide range of subs or content yet ... I mean, I still browse s/all pretty regularly to find new subs. They're probably sticking with Reddit until it really and truly shits the bed and folds in on itself, and then they'll leave en-masse, just like the days of Digg.

It's also though that not all 20K were actually regulars - reading and participating every day - many were just casual browsers who didn't even login to Reddit everyday. And so they probably missed our announcements.

I know that even people who applied to be mods with us over the past year, none of them have reached out to us post-ban ... and applying to be a mod is a level of commitment far greater than just being a user.

Its definitely why Im still so bitter we lost reddit when TRA are literally exploiting and grooming children. But we are the bad guys muh validation. I noticed for the most instead of moving off reddit, signing up for another site, people just tried to find other subreddits. Unfortunately I personally tried that but there really is no sanity left there. Hoping with time maybe we can claim a space back or more people move over here.

[–]MezozoicGayoldschool gay 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

people just tried to find other subreddits

And all of them are banned, or hijacked with trans activists. Site is big and advertised, so young people firstly going there and see only propaganda, as any opposition is just removed.

Reddit is peaking more people everyday from what I can tell, post there about this alternative for people who are questioning the TRAs who are less welcome every day in the subs they are trying to take over

The subscribers are getting slowly more and more tho. Of course It will take longer than when we were on reddit but it's happening. Also NO it's not almost dead. Threads are created every day. This is "almost dead"?? Hell no.

[–]wafflegaffWoman. SuperBi. 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Agreed, does not at all seem dead here to me.

[–]NiceDickBro 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah agree, almost my entire home page is stuff from this place - If anything I'd say it's the most busy for me.

[–]uroborosjohnson 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I discovered LGBDropTheT on Reddit shortly before its ban, and it makes me sad. Definitely a place full of humor with a more diverse set of people, in both orientation and political views. Here's hoping the subscriber count here ramps up.

[–]plumberSuperHans 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

yeah, but with ridiculously blatant antisemitism and COVID-19 denial on the front page of SaidIt, it's an even more uphill battle than it was. Not that this sub ever truly punched out the highest quality content, no offense to everyone. It's easier to be an aggressive internet activist when you're crazy and have nothing else to do, which is why radicals rise to the top a lot, here and in Reddit. (Once again, no offense to anyone, especially our classy drunk mods.)

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Ai, I noticed this as well. The anti-vax conspiritard types are here in large numbers. There is a lot of blatant anti-Semitism and racism on display as well.

[–]AugustiJade 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Quite homophobic comments in those posts as well. Any time I see a "news" post on the main subs that feature anything LGB-related, there are usually quite a few homophobic slurs in the comments.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is what happens when any point of view that is not singularly in lock step with the narrative gets forced out and has to take refuge amongst the detritus.

I put most of it down to internet edge lords in their I'm angry at my parents and I don't know why stage of life.

[–]ThiccDropkickGay 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The website itself is too niche for this sub to ever have a following like the original. Reddit has millions of users and many mobile apps etc. whereas you really have to go out of your way to use SaidIt
