I always wondered how drag queens got away with basically doing "woman face" or "pink face" I guess. Oh wait, they are dudes so it's ok. Some drag queens are totally nice but I've mostly met gay men drag queens 🤷‍♀️ To me, both groups reinforce stereotypes but one group does it for fun at bars and to apparently read to kids lol and the other wants to replace actual vaginas with girldicks and put people with penises in women's prisons and shelters because otherwise they are oppressed! No hun, you just aren't in the club. Let us have one thing ok thannnnkkssss!

Because "woman face" isn't really a thing, Greykittymomma. Let me explain my position: Baby girls don't come out of the womb with full glam makeup, glittery gowns, high heels, acrylic nails, dramatic hairdos, or even breast. The vast majority of female roles in all media (video games, cartoons, film, live-action television) are played by actual women. Feminine GNC guys (gay, straight, or bi) are seen as unnatural, annoying (by both straights and gays), sometimes "trashy/ghetto", and undesirable where as feminine women are seen as attractive and normal in society. And there are also no widespread reports of gay men dressed up like Kylie Jenner/Ariana Grande/MeganTheeStalion while beating, lynching, and burning women because a woman made a pass at them or whatever. Where as blackface actually does mock black people's natural born features (dark skin, thick lips, kinky textured hair, etc.) by exaggerating them in a clownish way. Blackface performances were going on for more than a hundred years, during times when black people toiled away as slaves in fields, during times when they weren't even allowed to portray themselves on film, and during times when teenage black boys got beaten to death for being falsely accused of whistling at white women. Blackface represents a big old pile of horribleness where as fem GNC gay/bi men doing drag represents a marginalized group of people celebrating their female influences (something that boys are taught not to have) and their own gay femininity while also bringing unity to their community through the joy of their performances n' whatnot. Not being into drag queens or their culture is totally fine, but "woman face" stuff just sounds kind of silly when you take all of the above into account.

That's why it was in quotes. It is what they think women are or should be. Still uses gender stereotypes, big boobs, lips, hair, nails. That's my point. They are allowed to indulge in fantasy and gender roles some of us do find offensive AS WOMEN. You don't get to tell the oppressed group how to perceive these things.

You think blackface is accurate? It also still happens today so not sure what your point was about historical blackface.

Women have also been abused, raped and killed by men a long time and yet putting on a dress and pretending to be a lady is called drag but I don't think my terms are that off, feel free to disagree.
